Call Center Workers have higher health risks

The study revealed by the Philippines Population Institute (UPPI) that the call center agents are more likely to have abnormal sleeping habits, habitual drinkers, use of illegal drugs and they are engage in risky sexual activities, sunstar reported.

Call center agents have higher income compared to the non call center employees but they have higher health risks.
The study was participated by 929 respondents which belong to 18-24 of age and an equal number of male and female.

The DOH (Department of Health) released the result because there are 709 reported HIV cases in the country from January to December 2009. This has been the greatest HIV cases compared from the previous years.

According to reports that 20% of the male respondents and 8% of the females who have been tested for HIV. However, there are 50% of the male call center employees and 36% of the females are willing to go through HIV tests.

This alarming HIV cases should be monitored by the government or any Health Department. Not only the call center agents but also the non call center workers should be studied as well.
