February 22 and 24 - Non-Working Holidays

Good news to all students from either private or public schools because on February 22 is a special holiday since the Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo moved its observance to the Monday closest to the holiday.


As proclaimed, February 25 will be a special holiday to serve as an “inspiration to all Filipinos everywhere as we continue to chart our collective course as a nation and as a people.”Sunstar reported. The country will commemorate 24th anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution on Feb. 25 but the holiday has moved the closest Monday.

On February 24 will be the 73rd Cebu City Charter Day – Charter holidays was signed by former President Corazon Aquino under Republic Act 7287 that declares February 24 is a special non-working holiday through out Cebu City.

Students will have a long weekend next week as so as all the employees. However, to those who are required to report on the said date will be given an additional 30 percent of their salary.
