Museu Sugbo also known as Cebu Museum is one of the well-known museums of the country. It is located in M.J Cuenco Avenue in the old Spanish era district in Cebu called – Tejero, Cebu. The Cebu Museum was once the old CPDRC – Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center or once called “Carcel de Cebu” where the famous youtube-sentation dancing inmates (featured Michael Jackson’s song) detained. The CPDRC has transferred to a spacious, a more secured and modern prison on December 2004 and on August 5, 2008, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia inaugurated the old CPDRC as Museu Sugbo.
No taking of pictures and videos inside the museum to ensure the antiques and old artifacts will be kept safe and preserved.
