Colon Street, Cebu City is located in the downtown area (below sea level) and is the most crowded streets in the Cebu City area. It is a place where you can find some commercial sites, shopping malls, restaurants, fast food chains, the Ukay-Ukay Stores (used clothing imported from Korea, China, Taiwan), Cheap Used Shoes stores (used shoes imported from abroad), pungko-pungko (sidewalk carenderia), and many others. It is used to be the home for Prostitutes due to lowest short-time hotel room rates, motels, lodging houses, pension houses, and inns are in its vicinity.

Colon Street has also been the home for snatchers and pick-pocketers. Be sure to watch your bags, wallets, pockets, cellphones and don’t wear any jewelries if you want to roam around in the downtown area.
Guidelines and How to avoid being snatched in Colon Street, Cebu City:
• Don’t bring large amount of money when walking the streets of Colon.
• If possible don’t bring bags, bring only money that is good for your shopping.
• Jewelries should be kept or not to be worn.

How to get there in Colon Street:
PUJ: Almost all jeepneys from different routes are passing by in Colon Street. Always read the jeepney’s sign board that are being placed in the windshield that says “Colon”
